As of September 17, 2009 there are no
restrictions of seasonal flu vaccines. Due to the
anticipated H1N1 vaccination campaign CDC and Nevada State
Health Division Immunization Program is recommending that
you obtain your seasonal flu shot now. The seasonal flu shot
will not protect you against the H1N1 novel flu- however
seasonal flu will still be circulating and infecting people
in our community concurrently with the Novel H1N1 flu.
Many providers have seasonal flu
shots available now. However due to the H1N1 response one of
the seasonal flu manufacturers have had to hold back on 20%
of their orders until November. This does not mean that
there is a shortage of seasonal flu vaccine. There are many
seasonal flu vaccine manufacturers and many providers order
vaccine from two or more manufacturers. |
