The Radiation Control Program
staff can provide general information about radiation
issues where the Health Division does not regulate the
radiation source or does not have a clearly defined
program established for those issues. These
non-regulatory issues include consumer products
involving sources of radiation such as microwave ovens,
smoke detectors, etc. Staff can also address radiation
environmental concerns or provide referrals on radiation
issues that are addressed by other agencies such as
federal agencies, other state agencies or county/local
organizations in the state of Nevada.
Public information
staff also provides information about other radiation
sources which may include direct responses to inquiries
or referrals to responsible parties.
Chapter 459 of NAC
is the radiation control standards for the state of
Nevada including general purpose X-ray machines,
accelerators, and radioactive material use in medicine
and industry.
