Our Mission Statement

The Nevada State Health Division is designated as the state radiation control agency and is authorized to take all actions necessary or appropriate to carry out provisions of NRS 459.010 to 459.290.

The Division is required to develop and conduct programs for the evaluation of and response to hazards associated with the use of sources of ionizing radiation. The Radiation Control Program, provides the operational activities on behalf of the Division to fulfill this mandate.
