Where do I get job notices?

The Health Division employs a diverse workforce in a variety of health related programs. Job Titles include Community Health Nurses, Health Facility Surveyors, Radiation Control Specialists and Health Program Managers.

How do I apply?

When will I get a response?

After all applications have been evaluated the Department of Personnel will email you a letter informing you of your eligibility status. This may take anywhere from two weeks to two months depending on the number of applicants.

 

Will I be interviewed?

When the list of eligible's is ranked by score the top five applicants will be invited to interview. If the list is unranked the agency will choose the five candidates who appear to be most qualified based on education and experience. They are contacted by telephone or letter. Interviews are conducted by a panel of subject matter experts. All questions are job related. Occasionally an applicant's writing skills and problem solving ability, etc. will be tested.

 

How can I prepare for the test and /or interview?

Read the announcement carefully. It will describe the position and the knowledge, skills and abilities expected. Some applicants have successfully used the ARCO books available from a library.

Starting benefits for the State of Nevada include 3 weeks of annual leave and 3 weeks of sick leave per year plus paid retirement and health insurance.
 
Residents of Nevada do not pay a state income tax.
