The 1-866-254-3964 number will connect you with a member of the Bureau of Family Health Services' Children with Special Health Care Needs program. The program representatives can help answer questions about medical care, financial assistance, support groups, organizations, and other services to help children and their families. The program representatives will help parents to navigate the systems of care for their children and find the answers to their many questions.

What is the definition of a child with special health care needs (CSHCN)?

A child or adolescent with special health care needs is one who has or is at increased risk for a chronic physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional condition and who also requires health and related services of a type or amount beyond that required by children generally.
