Residential Individual Sewage Disposal Systems

Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 444.784 requires that approval be obtained from the health authority to construct, alter, or extend an individual sewage disposal system. The approval for new construction is required before a building permit can be issued for any structure requiring an individual sewage disposal system.

To apply for a residential individual sewage disposal system construction permit, the applicant must submit the following:

  1. $498.00 for plan review fees.
  2. $498.00 for plan review if alternative treatment is used.
  3. A completed and signed application.
  4. Results from at least 2 percolation tests.
  5. A soil profile to a depth of at least 4 feet below the bottom of the proposed sewage disposal field trench depth (soil profile is typically to a depth of 9 feet).
  6. The depth of the seasonal high ground water elevation (as observed in the soil profile test pit).
