PERCOLATION TEST PROCEDURES

(NAC 444.796.1 and 444.796.2 inclusive)

Site Preparation:

  1. Determine site of proposed leach field.
  2. A test trench is dug to a minimum depth of 4' 0" below the depth of the proposed soil absorption system.
  3. Soil layers (horizons) are documented as a soil "stratigraphy" to a depth 4' 0" below the depth of the proposed soil absorption system.
  4. A minimum of two holes for percolation tests are prepared at the depth of the sidewalls of the proposed soil absorption system.
  5. Water used for percolation test is clear, clean water.
