Rape Prevention and Education

Sexual Violence is a significant public health problem in Nevada and in the United States. The National Injury Control and Risk Survey reported that 10.2% of women and 2.1% of men reported experiencing a completed rape at some time in their lives.

Sexual violence, including rape is preventable. The Rape Prevention and Education program focuses its efforts on preventing first-time perpetration and victimization by reducing modifiable risk factors.

The Rape Prevention and Education Program works with our coalition, Nevada Coalition Against Sexual Violence and other state and local partners to provide education, outreach and trainings on sexual assault prevention in schools, communities and organizations.
