The bureau also strives to be the state leader in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) issues by providing:
  • Research
  • Analysis of data from needs assessment and the development of initiatives and recommendations to address the findings of needs assessments
  • Standards development
  • Provision of technical assistance
  • Preparation of legislative testimony
  • Information for Nevada State Health Division and other Department of Human Resources staff, planning groups, policy makers, and other agencies whose activities affect the MCH populations
  • Quality assurance
Whether providing direct services or just information, the bureau accomplishes its various activities through the expertise of a variety of professional staff including Health Program Specialists, Health Program Managers, Health Educators, and Nutritionists.
